La Academia de la Televisión de Estados Unidos anunció este martes desde Los Ángeles sus candidatos para la 72° edición de los Emmy, el cual reconoce una gran cantidad de programas nuevos e innovadores y talentos, junto con artistas queridos y programas exitosos que han sido integrales para ayudar a los televidentes a navegar por un mundo cambiante.
La ceremonia en vivo, reinventada como un evento virtual debido a restricciones de producción resultantes de la pandemia por el COVID-19, cuya gala de entrega sigue programada para el 20 de septiembre.
Watchmen de HBO ocupó el primer lugar en nominaciones de programas con 26, seguidos de La maravillosa Sra. Maisel con 20, Ozark con 18, Sucesión con 18, El Mandalorian con 15, Schitt’s Creek con 15, Saturday Night Live con 15 y The Crown con 13.
Netflix lideró las nominaciones en totales por plataforma con 160, estableciendo un récord anteriormente celebrado por HBO con 137 nominaciones en 2019. HBO fue la segunda plataforma con más nominaciones con un total de 107, y completando los cinco primeros fueron NBC con 47, ABC con 36 y FX con 33.
La mitad de los nominados de este año para la serie de comedia excepcional son nuevos en categoría, incluyendo Dead to Me, Insecure, The Kominsky Method y What We Do Do in the Shadows.
